All Was Well

 How am I supposed to start this when I know it is something that will end.... "Last year as an ssc student, suliten tayon."

As we entered the final third quarter, I had this misguided notion that the fourth quarter would be a breeze, given our nearing completion of junior high school. However, reality hits hard. The last leg turned out to be an unexpected challenge. It felt like we were merely going through the motions. I had to dig deep, realizing that tears wouldn't check off the requirements. Thus, I learned to compartmentalize my emotions for the sake of progress.

Moreover, I want to express my gratitude to our adviser, Mrs. Remedios Martinez. She's been more than just a mentor; she's been a guiding light and a friend. Her daily reminders, occasional playful scolding in our group chat over our messy "mansiones" (the 10-Maxwell room), and after-class visits filled with parting wisdom are moments I'll fondly remember. I'll miss her dearly.

To my subject teachers, thank you for eight months of enlightenment and camaraderie. I've gained invaluable insights not only academically but also personally. Your teachings on morals and values have left a lasting impression on me. You have done nothing but to appreciate our own kind of intelligence which made us love all of you. I'm sincerely grateful for each of you.

To my fellow Maxwellians, thank you for the lessons. I've learned so much from each of you, from the importance of friendship to the value of humility and unity. You all hold a special place in my heart, and saying goodbye brings mixed emotions. But as we part ways, I celebrate our shared journey and memories. Congratulations, I'll continue to root for each of you as you pursue your dreams with unwavering determination.

To my og's, Veyonce, Gianna, Alyssa, Elaiza, Lyka, Gracinja, Harmony, Riza, Franklyn, JC, Angelo, Matt, and Zithri; Thank you for giving me the high school life I have never imagined. Thank you for accompanying me through the highs and lows. I am not great at expressing words, and I know sometimes you don't feel... My days with you guys are my favorite, you became my sanctuary the times I don't know where to run, where to stay, where to feel safe. I will always be grateful to all of you, for keeping me safe around your smiles and laughters. Thank you for giving me a spot to your lives. Kung kayo man ang TOTGA ko, wala akong pagsisisihan dahil naging panatag ako sa mga panahon na kayo ang kasama at yakap ko.

As this school year ends, I would also like to thank myself for all the sacrifices. Great people, great memories. What else I could say? Padayon my dearest SSC STUDENTS!

                                                     bits of my yesterdays:

Maybe;

Ever since I was young, I've been fascinated by the human mind and the complexities of our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. My dream is to become a psychiatrist and help people navigate the challenges of their mental health. I believe that this profession offers a unique opportunity to make a profound impact on individuals' lives, helping them find peace and stability in the midst of mental turmoil. The idea of guiding people toward understanding themselves better and finding healing through therapy and medication is incredibly rewarding to me.

My interest in psychiatry stems from personal experiences and observations of how mental health issues can affect individuals and their loved ones. I've witnessed the stigma and misunderstanding surrounding mental health, which can make it even more challenging for those who struggle with it to seek help. As a psychiatrist, I want to contribute to breaking down these barriers and fostering a more compassionate and supportive society. My goal is to provide a safe and non-judgmental space where individuals can openly discuss their concerns and work towards improving their mental well-being.

Pursuing a career in psychiatry requires dedication, empathy, and a strong foundation in science and medicine. I am committed to excelling in my studies and gaining a deep understanding of the human mind. I am excited to continue learning and growing, both academically and personally, so that I can one day make a meaningful difference in the lives of my future patients. This dream motivates me to work hard and strive for excellence in everything I do.

Momma's Day :)

 Every second Sunday of May, Filipinos worldwide commemorate a deeply meaningful occasion, Mother's Day. For Filipinos, this observance transcends mere holiday formalities or generic sentiments. It's a sincere homage to our cherished mothers, our "nanay," the cornerstone of our homes.

Within Filipino households, mothers embody more than just biological ties. They serve as our mentors, our biggest supporters, and the unwavering beacon guiding our lives. From rising before dawn to prepare breakfast to toiling tirelessly to provide for the family and staying up late to mend clothes and offer encouragement, their love knows no bounds, their sacrifices countless, and their presence a pillar of strength.

While flowers and gift cards symbolize Western customs of Mother's Day, in the Philippines, it's a day of familial unity. Siblings, regardless of geographic distance, gather to express their love and appreciation. Special meals are meticulously prepared, reflecting gratitude, and a joyous feast is often anticipated. The heart of the celebration lies in sharing stories and cherished memories, fostering familial bonds. Even for families separated by oceans, video calls and messages bridge the divide, reaffirming that distance is no match for familial love.

While Mother's Day serves as a dedicated moment to honor our mothers, it's essential to appreciate them every day. It's about acknowledging their relentless efforts, sacrifices, and challenges in nurturing us into the individuals we've become. So, let's seize the opportunity not only to celebrate our biological mothers but also those who have played maternal roles in our lives. Whether through heartfelt gestures, attentive listening, or a helping hand, every expression of love, no matter how small, resonates deeply within a mother's heart.
